Photography for One Happy Family
Brief:
To get a suite of images from One Happy Family centre in Athens including a special event for Refugee Day 2022. The brief encouraged photos that protected the identity and dignity of the community but captured the essence of centre and the activities there.

the work
I spent four days at the centre understanding the work, listening to the community and observing the activities. My role included:

building rapport with the other charities in the centre to understand their work and how to best portray and represent this

taking photos in a way that protected and celebrated the community we were working with

ensuring all consent was followed and any community members who agreed to be in photos understood the full use

editing and sending of all photos to the staff of One Happy Family
"Victoria Community Center is an open space focusing on the displaced populations living in Athens-Greece. The center is run by OHF in collaboration partner organizations, providing various services and activities such as PSS, legal aid, arts and sports activities, info point, women’s and kids’ spaces, etc.
Ms. Harris took part in the daily tasks that are indispensable for the smooth operation of the center. She also helped us for the organization of Refugee Week Event where we hosted almost 300 people in one afternoon. Most importantly, she supported us by taking numerous wonderful photos to be used mainly in our social media, which has been a great contribution.
With her skills, dedication and professionalism, Ms. Harris proved to be a very valuable team member and we feel grateful for the time and effort she dedicated to our organization."
